Learning Journal 14/10/08-17/10/08

I may not be able to use SECamb in my 'Working in organisations' module, as they do not 'officially' allow third-manning. However I have a great deal of evidence from St John Ambulance which can be used. So plan 'B' it is.....

Science Comms. & method gave the impression of a 'stalling' effort. As the Microbiology tutor was off sick, we were unable to perform our field-work and therefore worked further on writing-out our experiments; hopefully the following week will oblige.

The 'Study Skills' session was used to introduce the Ethics debate and successfully rallied us to the challenge, the following morning was spent researching the background and method of approach to our chosen subject

Stress & Illness was completion of the understanding of the Autonomic Nervous System and the effect stress has upon it. the following week will touch on BP measurment, which I am looking forward to as I have background experience.

Critical thinking introduced our assignment, which is a critique of a peice of journalistic writing, I am actually quite excited about this for some bizarre reason, I'm sure I will find out soon.

Microbiology completed last weeks work on viruses and meatn we could take some swab samples, which are now quietly growing in the incubator, giving us the skills required for next weeks field work for Science Comms. & method

I have now completed the IT portfolio, so am free to use the session for study, giving me valuable extra time!
